Industrial Curtains, Fumigation Tarps and Equipment Covers

LJ Covers manufactures industrial curtains, fumigation tarps, machine and equipment covers, and containment textiles for manufacturing plants, warehouses and distribution centres across Queensland and interstate.

Most sites end up making do. A curtain that is close enough for the opening but leaves a gap at the top. A machine cover draped over rather than fitted, snagging on a control panel every time it comes off. A near-fit does not just look untidy — it lets dust through into the clean side of the floor, wears through faster where it rubs, and gets pulled down and left off within a month.

We measure the actual opening or machine, work around the racking, beams, control panels and access points already in place, and specify the fabric against what the space has to deal with — dust, fumes, washdown, temperature separation, hot work, static, noise or food-contact requirements. If the specification calls for a material we do not hold, we source it and supply the manufacturer’s technical data sheet and test certification with the finished item.
Made at our Redland Bay facility. Call Jason or Leah on 0411 781 221.

Fabric specification and sourcing

We are a manufacturer, not a fabric mill and not a certifier. What we bring is specification judgement and supply access — knowing which construction suits the environment, sourcing it from a supplier who can certify it, and manufacturing it correctly. Where your specification or your auditor nominates a material, we work to it. Where it doesn’t, we recommend against the conditions and supply the data to back the recommendation.

MATERIAL CLASSSPECIFIED FORTYPICAL SITE APPLICATION
Clear and tinted PVCVisibility through a barrier. Sourced in a range of gauges and in welding-grade tints where arc flash needs blocking.Work zone separation where sightlines matter, machine guarding, supervisor visibility across a floor.
Fire retardantFlame-retardant treated or inherently FR construction, supplied with the manufacturer’s certification. Not a fire-rated building element.Welding and grinding screens, hot work bays, curtains near cutting operations.
Anti-staticStatic dissipation where powders, grain or fine dust are handled and charge build-up is a risk.Powder and bulk handling areas, silo and hopper enclosures, dust containment around milling and packing.
Food-contact and washdown-ratedMaterials certified for food-contact environments and able to take repeated high-pressure and chemical washdown without degrading.Food and beverage manufacturing, processing rooms, packing halls, cold chain zones.
Thermal and insulatedInsulated constructions that hold a temperature differential across an opening rather than just blocking line of sight.Coolroom and freezer thresholds, temperature-controlled zone separation, dock-to-chiller transitions.
AcousticMass-loaded barrier and absorptive constructions, specified to the attenuation the site is working to.Noise separation around presses, compressors and grinding lines; boundary screening.
Gas-retentive fumigation fabricLow-permeability film and fabric selected to hold the fumigant for the duration of the treatment, with the seam and seal detail built to match. Certification availableFumigation tarps for palletised stock, containers, and sections of warehouse floor.
Chemical-resistantSelected against the specific reagent, concentration and temperature — not a general resistance claim.Chemical storage areas, bunding, splash curtains on wet process lines.
Mesh and shadeAirflow retained while separation, screening or debris control is maintained.Bird and insect screening, open-sided storage, dock and yard screening.
Reinforced and ripstop PVCHigh tear strength where the material takes daily handling, forklift traffic or wind loading.Roller and drop curtains, external dock screens, rack and stack covers.

What We Make For Manufacturing and Warehouse Sites

Industrial and Containment curtains

Containment curtains separate work areas, control dust and airflow, and section off zones within a warehouse or manufacturing floor without the cost or permanence of a full wall. They’re common in facilities where one process generates dust, fumes, or noise that needs to stay away from another part of the operation, or where temperature-controlled zones need to hold their conditions.

We fabricate curtains to the actual opening, working around existing racking, machinery, and structural beams rather than asking you to reconfigure the space to suit a standard size. Fixings and track systems are chosen based on how often the curtain needs to open and close, a curtain that’s opened fifty times a day needs different hardware to one that stays shut for weeks at a time.

Material follows the job. Clear PVC where the floor needs sightlines through the barrier. Insulated construction where the curtain is holding a temperature differential rather than just a dust line. Anti-static where powders or fine dust are handled. Food-contact and washdown-rated material where the curtain sits inside a processing area. We specify against the environment and tell you why, rather than quoting one fabric for every opening.

Fumigation Tarps

Fumigation covers seal a space or a stack of goods during pest or material treatment, keeping the fumigant contained where it’s needed and out of areas it shouldn’t reach. Whether it’s a one-off treatment for an incoming shipment or a recurring part of your site’s pest management, the cover needs to seal properly or the treatment doesn’t do its job.

We make these to fit the actual load or space being treated, whether that’s palletised stock, a full container, or a section of warehouse floor. Getting the seal right matters more here than in most other covers we make, since a gap in a fumigation cover can mean the treatment has to be redone.

Fumigation tarps are made from low-permeability material chosen to hold the fumigant for the full treatment period, with the seams and sealing detail built to match. We fabricate to the actual load or space being treated — palletised stock, a full container, or a marked section of floor — and can produce repeat sizes as a set where the same load configuration comes through regularly.

Machine and Equipment covers

Machinery that sits idle between shifts, between jobs, or in storage picks up dust, moisture, and general wear even when it’s not running. A custom equipment cover protects it properly, fitted to the actual shape of the machine rather than draped over loosely and hoping for the best.

We build covers around the specific equipment, working with access points, control panels, and moving parts that need to stay clear or accessible even with the cover on. If your site has multiple machines that need covering, we can work through them as a batch so everything’s consistent.

For equipment standing idle over a shutdown, a breathable construction usually beats a fully waterproof one — an impermeable cover over warm machinery traps condensation against the surface it is meant to protect. We specify breathable where the machine needs to dry and impermeable where it needs sealing, and say which we are recommending and why. Covers are made around the actual machine, keeping control panels, isolation points and access hatches clear.

Welding Screens and Hot Work Curtains

Welding bays, grinding stations and hot work areas need a screen that blocks arc flash and spatter without shutting the area off entirely. We manufacture screens and curtains from fire-retardant material and welding-grade tinted PVC, made to the bay rather than bought in a standard panel size, with the track and fixing chosen for how often the screen is moved.

These are work screens made from certified fire-retardant fabric. They are not fire-rated building elements and we do not supply smoke curtains or fire compartmentation.

Loading Dock Screens and Weather Curtains

Dock openings are where the weather, the dust and the birds get in. Drop curtains and dock screens close the gap between the building and the vehicle, keeping rain off the goods during loading and holding conditioned air inside. We make them from reinforced material rated for the wind loading at the opening and set them up to be raised, dropped or drawn depending on how the dock is worked.

Rack, Stack and Pallet Covers

Stock stored in an open-sided building, in a yard, or under a leaking section of roof needs covering without being wrapped and re-wrapped every time it is accessed. We make fitted rack and stack covers to your pallet or racking dimensions, in repeat runs where the configuration is consistent, so covering and uncovering is a two-minute job rather than a roll of plastic and a knife.

Repairs and Alterations

We repair and alter industrial curtains, tarps and covers regardless of who made them. A torn curtain, a failed seam, a cover that needs resizing after a machine change or a new track — all of it is cheaper to fix than replace, and we will tell you honestly when it isn’t worth repairing.

How we work

  • We consult on site. We attend and measure the actual opening, machine or space — including the racking, beams, control panels and services already in the way.
  • We specify the material. Against the real conditions: dust, fumes, washdown, temperature separation, hot work, static or food contact.
  • We manufacture in Redland Bay. Cut and made in our own facility, not ordered in and re-badged.
  • We supply it ready to install. With the track, fixings, hanging detail and any handling instructions your crew or maintenance contractor needs. Installation and on-site delivery can also be arranged by LJ Covers.

If your site needs ongoing cover maintenance or periodic replacement as part of a larger operation, we can talk through a standing arrangement rather than treating every job as a one-off.

Working With Us

Manufacturing

All fabrication is carried out at our Redland Bay facility. Typical lead time from confirmed measurement is based on requirement, with breakdown and shutdown work prioritised where the window is tight.

On-site Consultation

We can attend site to measure and confirm the specification before anything is cut. On a working floor this matters more than it sounds — openings are rarely square, racking has usually moved since the drawing was made, and the clearances that matter are the ones nobody wrote down.

Site attendance is covered by public liability of $20 Million and workers compensation.

Installation

We manufacture and supply. Installation is carried out by LJ Covers, your maintenance team or your nominated contractor, and we can supply the track, fixings and hanging detail so it goes up correctly.

Packing and Transport

Large-format curtains and covers are damaged more often in transit than in service. We build custom pallets and crating to suit each item, with the fold pattern and packing method set so the material arrives without abrasion or coating damage, and can be handled with the equipment on your dock.

Our business recently got LJ Covers to make a large industrial strength 15m x 10m 16oz canvas ripstop tarp and couldn’t be happier. It’s heavy-duty, strong, and the tie-downs are solid. The fabric quality is much better than tarpaulins we’ve bought elsewhere before. Service was great the whole way through. We also saw they do trailer canopies, so got one organised as well, and that turned out spot on. Heavy-duty PVC, zips and all the bells n whistles. Very happy and would definitely recommend LJ Covers

This company is incredible. The workers there are friendly and helpful, they provide good quality products. The materials and effort they put into each customer is 5/5. I had them do my shade sails and it looks amazing, the fabric was and felt really durable to hold against the storms and high wind where I live. I Highly recommend going to LJ covers!

Manufacturing And Warehousing FAQs

Got a question? Find answers to common questions about our services, products and custom solutions.

Yes. Tears, failed seams, resizing after a machine change or a new track — all of it. We will also tell you when a repair isn’t worth doing rather than take the job.

Yes. We measure the actual space and work around what is already there, rather than asking you to reconfigure the floor to suit a standard size. Beams, racking uprights, services and access routes are all picked up at the measure.

Yes. We source material certified for food-contact environments and able to take repeated washdown, and supply the certification with the item.

Yes. We manufacture welding screens and hot work curtains from certified fire-retardant material and supply the test certification with them. These are work screens — we do not supply smoke curtains or fire-rated building elements, which are certified building products with a separate approval process.

Both. One-off treatments for an incoming shipment, or repeat sizes made as a set where the same load configuration comes through regularly. Tell us the load or space being treated and we will recommend the construction.

Yes. Tears, failed seams, resizing after a machine change or a new track — all of it. We will also tell you when a repair isn’t worth doing rather than take the job.

Yes. We measure, manufacture and install — curtains, screens, dock and equipment covers, including the track and fixings. The same team that measures the job fits it, so nothing is lost in the handover. Installation can be scheduled after hours, on a weekend or during a planned shutdown so your floor keeps running.

Yes. Where covers and curtains need periodic replacement across a site or a group of sites, we would rather set up a standing arrangement with agreed specifications and repeat sizes than quote each one from scratch.
