Choosing the right material for the job

Not all tarps are the same, and the material makes all the difference. We work in three primary materials, each suited to different applications:

• Canvas: Natural canvas is breathable, tough, and ideal for applications where condensation is a concern — stockpile covers, agricultural use, and situations where airflow matters. It’s a proven material that handles Australian conditions well and repairs easily.
• Poly fabric: Lightweight, waterproof, and UV-stabilised. Poly fabric tarps are practical for general purpose covering, transport, and storage applications where weight and cost are a consideration without sacrificing durability.
• PVC:The go-to material for demanding applications — truck tarps, industrial covers, curtain-siders, and anywhere that needs a waterproof, tear-resistant, long-lasting solution. PVC tarps can be hot-air welded for seamless joins and fabricated with reinforced hems, eyelets, and custom fittings.

Fittings, reinforcement & custom features

A tarp is only as good as its fittings. We fabricate every tarp with the hardware and reinforcement needed for how it will actually be used:

Our business recently got LJ Covers to make a large industrial strength 15m x 10m 16oz canvas ripstop tarp and couldn’t be happier. It’s heavy-duty, strong, and the tie-downs are solid. The fabric quality is much better than tarpaulins we’ve bought elsewhere before. Service was great the whole way through. We also saw they do trailer canopies, so got one organised as well, and that turned out spot on. Heavy-duty PVC, zips and all the bells n whistles.
